Quick Snacks Recipes Ideas


Thinking about a healthy as well as a tasty snack for kids each day is the biggest challenge for every mother. Being the mother of a fussy-eater child, I think twice a daily about what should I cook for my child because the growing years needs much more balanced nutrition.


In addition, the presence of junk food items makes the child more choosy and selective in terms of eating. Hence, in order to help out my other mommy friends who also feel stuck with the question - What should I cook today? I am sharing some Quick Snacks Recipes Ideas which is not only good for the kids but also goes with the adult's choice.


So, let us have a look at these mouth-watering recipes.


1. Paneer Cheese Toast Recipe

Paneer Cheese Toast is an Indian style tasty and flavoured dish which is often preferred by the kids. Its taste resembles the taste of pizza! This Paneer Cheese Toast can be cooked on tawa or pan and does not require much preparation. The ingredients are basic and are quite easily available at home.


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 (half) Capsicum - finely chopped.

  • 4-6 slices of Bread - preferably Brown Wheat Bread.

  • 150 grams Paneer (Cottage cheese)

  • 100 grams Mozzarella Cheese - grated

  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Oil

  • 1 medium sized Onion - finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste

  • 1 medium sized Tomato - finely chopped

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon chilly flakes.

  • Salt as per to the taste.

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon Black pepper powder

  • Handful coriander leaves - finely chopped

METHOD

Heat the pan and add cooking oil. Add chopped onions, capsicum and chopped green chillies. Saute them until they change their colour to golden brown. Now add tomatoes and sprinkle salt as per to the taste, red chilly flakes and also the black pepper powder. Cover and cook until tomatoes get tender and soft . Once you see the softened tomatoes, you can now add paneer (cottage cheese) and mix it well with the other ingredients. Lastly, add chopped coriander leaves.


On the other hand, take the bread slices and spread some melted butter on one side of the bread slices and on the flip side, place the cooked paneer masala on it. Place these bread slices on the tawa keeping the masala side up. Now you should add some grated mozzarella cheese on the bread to add more taste . Cover them with the lid and when you see cheese has started melting, they are ready to be served.


Serve these Paneer Cheese Toast with tomato ketchup.


2. Chocoloate Banana Sandwich

Chocolate Banana Sandwich recipe is one of the easiest evening snack recipe which is tasty and delicious to eat. You only need to have the following ingredients:

  • Choco Sauce - Nutella Hazalnut Choco Sauce/ Hershey's Choco Spread / Dr.Oetkars Funfoods Choco Fudge (Any one of the brand will do)

  • 4 Whole Wheat Bread Slices

  • 1 Banana - Sliced

  • Melted butter

Method

Take bread slices and finely spread choco sauce on it. Put banana slices on top of it. Now, cover this slice of bread with other slice of bread. Spread melted butter on both sides and put them on preheated Tawa. Let them get crisp and golden brown in colour from both sides, therefore, flip them as per the need. Once they are properly crisped, they are ready to be served. Let your kids enjoy this yummy Choco Banana Sandwich in their breakfast or as an evening snack.



3. Potato and Semolina Balls (Aloo-sooji balls)

This quick Indian snack is tasty and often loved by the kids. You can also serve this yummy snack as an evening snack for the adults too.This snack can be served along with Pudina chutney or even with the tomato ketchup.


Ingredients:

  • 2 -3 boiled potatoes

  • 1 cup semolina (sooji)

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon of cumin powder (zeera powder)

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)

  • Salt - as per to the taste

  • 2 cups Water

  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon red chilly powder

  • Half teaspoon of black pepper powder

  • 1 finely chopped green chilli

  • Little quantity of finely chopped green coriander

  • Half teaspoon of Oregano powder (if available)


Method

Take a bowl for heating purpose. Add water, salt and oil in it. Once it starts boiling add sooji, and starts stirring it continuously so that no lumps get formed. Remember, do this on a low flame. You will observe that the sooji is getting tighter and has become a soft dough now. Take it off the flame and let it be cool. Set it aside.


On the other hand, mash the boiled potatoes, and add salt, black pep . Next, take the sooji dough and kneed it properly to make it soft and firm. Once done, mix this sooji dough with the potato masala. Mix chopped coriander with this stuffing as well and starts making small-small balls.

Now on the other side, heat the oil in kadhai on a high flame. Once it is sufficiently hot, sim the flame and start frying these balls made of sooji and potato until they turn out to be golden brown. Drain out the extra oil and serve hot with any chutney or tomato ketchup.
