Do you ever feel like your kids are full of energy but have nowhere to channel it? Instead of dreading the summer break and constantly hearing the phrase "I'm bored!", take a deep breath and relax. We have a plan to keep your child engaged and occupied throughout the summer break.


We have put together a list of 10 summer activities for children that offer a unique combination of fun, learning, and creativity. We believe that children should have the opportunity to showcase their talents in their own way since every child is special and unique.

1. Keeps them active: Children have a lot of energy to spare, and outdoor games and activities help them channel that energy productively.

3. Helps them stay on track: A summer break of a month or two can cause a child's studies to slow down. Therefore, summer activities are essential to keep children engaged with their studies while still enjoying their vacation time. their happy mood for vacations and summer activities is vital. 


10 Fun Summer Child Activities

Summer in India brings long, hot days, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop! Here are 10 activities that are perfect for keeping your kids cool, creative, and engaged during the summer break:


  1. Become a Backyard Beach Bum: While a trip to the beach might not always be feasible, create a beach vibe in your own backyard! Fill a small pool or sprinkler for splashing, build sandcastles in a sandbox, and break out some beach toys. Don't forget sunscreen!

  2. Beat the Heat with Bookworms: Dive into a world of adventure! Set up a cosy reading corner and encourage your kids to get lost in exciting adventure stories or fascinating mythology books. It's a great way to keep them cool and foster a love for reading.

3. Culinary Craftsmen: Get the kids involved in the kitchen with cool summer treats! Make mango lassi, a refreshing yoghurt drink, or try whipping up some homemade ice cream. It's a delicious way to keep them cool and teach them new skills.

4. Crafty Cool Down: Arts and crafts are a great way to keep cool indoors. Decorate plain white T-shirts with fabric paints, make friendship bracelets with colourful threads, or design your own summer greeting cards.

5. Puppet Power!  Put on a show! Create sock puppets or paper bag puppets and write a short summer-themed play. The kids will love performing for the family.

6. Stargazing on the Rooftop: As the days get longer, enjoy some stargazing on a clear night. Spread out a blanket on the rooftop, identify constellations with a star chart (or phone app!), and share stories about mythology.

(Oh! We used to do this same, remember!)

7. Kite Champions:  Kite flying is a classic Indian summer activity. Head to a park or an open field, choose a colourful kite, and have a competition to see who can fly theirs the highest!

8. Indoor Treasure Hunt: On a particularly hot day, create an indoor treasure hunt with clues hidden around the house. Incorporate riddles, puzzles, and challenges to keep the kids engaged in their quest for a hidden summer surprise!

9. Volunteer Vacation: Inculcate the spirit of giving back by volunteering together at a local animal shelter or an old age home. It's a great way to teach kids empathy and social responsibility.

10. Board Game Bonanza:  Dust off those board games or classic Indian games like Ludo or Carrom. Spend some quality family time together with some friendly competition and laughter in the cool comfort of an air-conditioned room.
